Our Story
The Qatha Ethos
At Qatha, we believe a saree should feel as natural and effortless as your own skin — something you want to wear, never something you have to.
We create sarees for the modern Indian woman who carries her roots with ease — grounded yet free, timeless yet ever-evolving. Sarees that move with you through long days, quiet moments, celebrations, travel, work, and everything in between.
Each Qatha saree is thoughtfully handcrafted to bring together comfort, softness, and heritage — woven with stories, yet designed for real life.
Handcrafted in India
Our journey travels through India’s vibrant craft traditions —
from the looms of Bengal and Benaras,
to the sun-washed craft clusters of Bagru, Sanganer & Bhuj,
and the weaving communities of Madras —
where generations of artisans bring every thread to life with skill, patience, and soul.
We work closely with craftspeople whose artistry is inherited through generations. Together, we create sarees that are breathable, feather-soft, and kind to the skin — made using natural fibres and thoughtfully crafted for the Indian climate.
Because comfort is not an afterthought.
It is the heart of everything we make.
Sarees, Made to Be Lived In
A Qatha saree is designed to become part of your everyday rhythm — easy to drape, effortless to carry, and beautiful to live in.
We want more women to rediscover the joy of wearing sarees without heaviness, stiffness, or occasion-bound rules. To feel elegant without discomfort. To feel dressed up while still feeling like themselves.
Every drape holds heritage, but also freedom —
freedom to move, breathe, work, celebrate, travel, and simply exist comfortably in six yards.
Because a saree should never feel restrictive.
It should feel like home.
“A saree has always felt deeply personal to me.”
Meet the Founder
Vatsla Sanguri
It reminds me of childhood moments spent hiding behind my mother’s pallu, of curling into my grandmother’s soft cotton pleats as she told us stories, and of quietly admiring the effortless grace of the women around me.
Over time, the saree became more than nostalgia. It became a way of expressing who I was — rooted in tradition, yet finding my own voice within it.
But somewhere along the way, sarees also became associated with discomfort, effort, and occasions. And I kept wondering — why should something so beautiful feel difficult to wear?
Qatha was born from the idea that sarees can be soft, breathable, effortless, and deeply contemporary while still honouring craft and heritage.
Today, every Qatha saree is designed with that intention — to feel light on the body, easy to wear, and timeless in spirit.
